One of the greatest privileges of my work is watching my clients step fully into their leadership and bring meaningful work into the world.
I’m launching a new series called Movement Makers in Action to spotlight some of the powerful initiatives my clients are leading right now — the books, research, conversations, and platforms that are shaping industries and communities.
Today, I’m excited to highlight Jennifer Stapleton, founding partner of Fire & Bliss, a strategic communications firm that helps foundations and nonprofits strengthen their messaging, fundraising, and public leadership.
In my work, we define what I call a One Message for the World—a thought leadership declaration that a woman is here to lead with.
Jennifer’s is this:
“Courageous foundations don’t just fund change. They speak up when it matters most.”
Jennifer recently released a white paper titled From Triage to Durable Progress, exploring how foundation leaders are recalibrating strategy, reassessing risk, and strengthening communications in what many are calling a high-demand era.
Through confidential conversations with philanthropic leaders, Jennifer noticed something striking: many foundation leaders were grappling with the same questions about how to respond to growing demands, communicate clearly in uncertain times, and lead responsibly while navigating real constraints.
Right now, philanthropic organizations are navigating enormous pressure. Demand for funding is high, expectations for impact are growing, and leaders are being asked to move faster and communicate more clearly than ever before.
Jennifer’s report helps foundation leaders understand how their peers are navigating this moment and offers insight into how the sector can move from reactive crisis response toward stronger, more strategic leadership.
Work like this matters deeply. Foundations support everything from education and health to the arts, the environment, food access, and democracy. When philanthropic leaders have clearer insight and stronger communication strategies, the ripple effect reaches countless nonprofits, organizations, and communities.
Watching women bring thoughtful leadership like this into the world is one of the things I love most about the community we are building.
