There is an older deer who has frequently visited our property for years. She is blind in one eye, her ears are tattered and she’s wise equivalent to her years. I call her Grammy.
Grammy is kind and trusting of me. She has been known to walk right up to me and touch her nose to my hand. When she gifts me one of these moments, I will drop to the ground and just sit and talk with her, telling her how pretty she is, telling her to be careful out there and acknowledging that I know, she knows what she’s doing. She’s a survivor.
This is a moment of pure joy for me. My heart grows bigger, and even as I write this, I have a big smile on my face.
Joy is a gift and today, I invite you to connect to the joy in your life. Then invite more in.
In your business: What brings you the greatest joy in your business? Are there certain types of clients you love to work with? Are there certain types of projects? Do you love the stage? Or perhaps it’s writing? Whatever it is that brings you the greatest joy in your business… do more of it. Focus on growing this part of your work. Make it a priority. For when you resonate in the joy you create in your business, your energy will expand. And so will your success. (A little tip to go along with that, what isn’t bringing you joy? Can you outsource that? Or perhaps stop doing it all together? Set free the things that are not joyful, if you are able!)
In your life: Today stop and consider the last thing that you did in your life that made your heart grow bigger with joy. Expand. Perhaps it was a hug from your child, a quiet moment with your spouse. Getting out in nature is a joy-generator for many people. Remember the last time you went out to dinner with your closest friends and sat around the table and laughed until your belly ached? Or perhaps it was when you were playing in your art, your sport or on a playground on a swing. Do you love to dance around a room? Whatever it is that sparks your heart with joy… make space for it. Then make space for more every day this week. Your body will thank you.
